its begun...

Last nights meeting at the Leadership Institute was wonderful. Pastor Ofe translated for PC. That was fun watching him and listening to him through an interpreter. He taught on the difference between being a follower and a disciple. It moved the congregation. Pastor Ofe started crying while she was translating. He challenged them to step out of being a follower and always looking to God and others to have their needs met, into being a disciple and having living waters flow and meeting the needs of others. When the teaching was over he started calling out people with specific issues; back problems, babies that had passed, in need of jobs and prophesied over them. Then he did the normal Campbell alter call and asked if anyone needed prayer and all 80 people came up! We spent 3 1/2 hours praying and prophesying (and everything in between) over everyone in the room. It was a lot of fun. Very moving. We've been receiving confirmations from the pastors and leaders today about how accurate the words were and how thankful they were for the service. Everyone is very excited about Sundays service. We are trying to figure out how we're gonna pray for 500 people! LOL!
The missionary ladies meeting was beautiful. Lots of tears, asking God to heal brokenness, forgiving those that have hurt them. I ministered prophetically to the group and to a few personally. Got to do a little bit of deliverance and tongue-filling. LOTS of FUN!!! Everyone left encouraged and energized in Jesus. Out of it we have personal ministry time set up tonight with one of the missionary couples. Charlie and I are looking forward to seeing what Jesus has for them!
Thursday and Friday we get to sight see! We are going to the Mayan Ruins and to Lake Panajachel. Yeah for family time! Saturday we go to the town of Carolingia. We will get to work with 100+ kids in a gang infested area. (This will be good for Brianna and Sydney.) Sunday morning we have the church service, and Sunday night is a home group in Guatemala City.
So I will write again sometime early next week. Maybe Tuesday. We miss and love you all. I pray you are being blessed by the guest speakers. I am having a very hard time uploading my pixs! But Rebekahs blog has some from last nights meeting on it. The link is on the right side of this page, Guatemala Summer 2008.
Love Always!!! The Campbell Family

the campbell bus is in guatemala!

We are in Guatemala! Let me start off by saying thank you for all the prayers over our traveling. It was the easiest trip I have ever taken. Both personally and missions. From airport security, to very smooth plane rides, going through customs, and of course traveling with first-timers Brianna and Sydney, all of it...it was a breeze. Charlie and I knew that the Lord had been before us to prepare the way. I have never traveled with so much peace!
Watching the girls has been fun. When we left the airport we traveled through Guatemala City. Sydney saw a man on the side of the rode peeing. I guess "just going" on the sidewalk when you are walking to your destination is normal here. As we left the city and went through the towns, her comment was, "wow mommy. they're really poor." Miss Brianna slept the whole car ride.
One interesting fact about Guatemala (that Rebekah failed to tell me, I might add) is they do not flush their toilet paper. It gets thrown away in the trash cans. YUCK!!! Their plumbing pipes are to small to hold toilet paper. When you go to the bathrooms, right next to the toilet is a large trash can. Again, YUCK!!! Another fun thing that we get to do before we leave is go to the clinic. Not to lay hands on the sick, but instead to get teseted for ameoba's and other hitchhikers. Guess how they do that. I will let you figure that out on your own! I told the girls and if you could of seen Brianna's face. LOL! It was priceless!
The place where we are staying is beautiful and peaceful. We have our own "little suite" where we can have quality time as a family. There are 2 bedrooms that share a livingroom and a bathroom. Its nice to be able to go into our area and close the door and have privacy. We are surrounded by 3 volcanoes and lots of mountains. One of the volcanoes is active and you can see the lava running down the side that we are facing. Rebekah says that at night it is beautiful when the volcano is active. i hope i can get some good pictures. We are actually trying to decide if we want to hike up that volcano. I want to, but I'm scared to take my girls. You actually get to jump over the lava flows and such. WHAT AN COOL (should i say HOT) OPPORTUNITY!
We met with the Pastors today. We connected with them and PC shared with him some of things God was showing him for his church and the service on Sunday. (FYI-500 people at their Sunday morning service) They became very excited. We are teaching tonight at their leadership institute and we are expecting 80 people. Our schedule is very full. I will be at the missionary womens bible study tomorrow and the topic is "Healing the Wounds". How appropriate, God has great timing! Please keep the meetings in your prayers. They have high expectations for our meetings. Talk about pressure.
I will write again tomorrow and fill you in on the 2 meetings and let you know about the rest of the week. God is opening things up for me in the spirit realm and i'm amazed. All I have to do is lay down and close my eyes and I start to hear and see things about the area I am in! Dreams kicked in immediately too! WOW!!! What is He up to?
We miss and love you all! Pastor Marissa

all the packing is done

It's Saturday night, 10:30pm, and every member of the Campbell family is packed and plane ready. I have personally been packing all day. I can't explain why its been ALL DAY, but all day I have been moving clothes around, packing snacks, putting bottles in clear bags, and then changing the piece of luggage it was in to a different one. Funny enough, I can't remember the last time I was home like this. Home from the time I woke up, until I went to bed! Wild, huh?
I have our schedule in a calendar format so I will try to post it so you can see where we will be ministering each day & know how to pray for us. Please keep us in your prayers! The churches are specifically asking for teachings on Spiritual Warfare, Deliverance and Healing, Generational Curses, and asking for personal ministry time for prayer, prophecy, deliverance and whatever else the Lord wants to bring. Considering the way we will be ministering, we are definitely going to need some extra covering through prayer.
We packed a camera, and I am told we will have access to the internet, so hopefully I can update the blog and keep everyone posted on how things are going. I already miss everyone and I'm resisting the thoughts that are coming to me telling me that I am "not enough" for this trip to do the things we are going to do. Thoughts like that haven't bothered me at all until today. I hate the devil, and my negative emotions for that matter!
Well, I look forward to church tomorrow morning, seeing everyone, being prayed for, etc... See you in the morning!
